As temperatures hit -10, Primary 1 wrapped up warm and stepped out to explore the playground.  Because of the snow and ice we have been unable to go out to play at playtime and lunchtime.  We spoke about the risks of walking on the playground and how to keep safe.  We waited until the big boys and girls were busy in afternoon lessons and we went outside.  We had the whole school grounds to ourselves.  We took the camera outside and enjoyed looking for interesting things to photograph.  We saw ice that had started to melt into puddles, grit that made little circle patterns in the snow and we even followed the vehicle and bird tracks that we found.  We took such great photos Mrs Nicholson finished off by taking a whole class photo outside so we could remember this day when the snow melts away.  Mrs Guthrie spied us in the school garden from her window and came out to join us.  Most of the plants had died off but we're sure they'll grow again in Spring time.  We're going to keep an eye on them to make sure they do.  Look at what we saw outdoors.
